Bradford, Pennsylvania. Just a small town in northwestern section of the state, right before you hit the state line. At one time it was a city enjoying the fruits of the oil boom. But by the 1970s, big oil was starting to move on. Just in time for another business to move in – drugs. Lots of them. And that business cost three young men their lives in the mid-70s. One murder was solved; however, the other two remain a mystery. This is a 3-part series on Bradford’s Drug Murder and as you read each one, you will see the same names appear several times so pay attention.

I am currently working on three stories. However, researching cold cases takes time. You have to search newspaper archives, file Right to Know requests and wait for replies, and try to find family members to interview. So, I thought I would use this time to write about the origins of the Cold Case Initiative.
